Parallels Virtualization SDK is a developer toolkit from Parallels that lets you automate, extend, and integrate Parallels virtualization environments—most commonly Parallels Desktop on macOS. It provides programmatic access to virtual machines and host configuration, so you can embed virtualization into build, test, and IT workflows with repeatable, scriptable control.

Key capabilities:

  • VM lifecycle automation: create, configure, start, stop, suspend, clone, snapshot, and rollback
  • Resource management: set CPUs, memory, disks, network adapters, shared folders, and other VM hardware options
  • Networking and storage: configure virtual networks, NAT and port forwarding, and manage virtual disks and templates
  • Scripting and tooling: use APIs (including Python and C) and command-line utilities such as prlctl and prlsrvctl for CI/CD and automation
  • Monitoring and events: query VM state, capture events, and collect operational details for orchestration and health checks
  • Broad guest support: work with Windows, Linux, and other supported guest operating systems on a macOS host

Designed for developers, QA, DevOps, and IT administrators, the SDK helps streamline provisioning, testing, and maintenance tasks, enabling consistent, version-controlled environments and faster delivery pipelines. Documentation and sample code are provided to help you get started quickly.
